Cellist Dr. Karl Ronnevik hails from west central Minnesota, where he grew up on a farm. He began cello at the age of ten and eventually pursued studies in music and business at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. After earning two graduate degrees in cello performance at The Hartt School in Connecticut, he moved to Greensboro, NC in 2013 to pursue his doctorate. As an orchestral cellist, chamber musician, and soloist, Dr. Ronnevik performs regularly throughout the region and has given concerts across the United States and Europe. He has shared the stage with a wide range of eminent musicians including Joshua Bell, Sting, Rhiannon Giddens, The Eagles, Harry Connick Jr., Kenny G, Andrea Bocelli, James Ehnes, Béla Fleck, Sergey Antonov, Amy Grant, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, and Boyz II Men. Dr. Ronnevik instructs cello and chamber music at Davidson College and Guilford College and maintains a private teaching studio in Greensboro, where he lives with his wife (a violist) and two children. He plays a 2019 Jon van Kouwenhoven (Hartford, CT) cello.
